The Lexmark 5000 Inkjet printer was made with home owners in mind. It also has some of the basic features needed for startup home businesses. It comes with copy, fax, and printer functions and the fax copy functions are usable without hooking up to a computer. The print speed of 5 pages per minute for black and white and 3 pages for color are about average for home printers. Though the printer was made for a home application the print quality is high enough to impress at 1200 x 600 dpi.

The fax function provides many standard options. Automatic cover page, report page and phone number storage. In addition, there is a setting to help prevent junk faxes, or unauthorized use of the machines. It can also send blanket faxes, and has several customization features. The copy machine also has a couple of unique features as well. It has the expected functions such as page numbering and collating but it also has a feature for organizing booklets. It has the expected label and envelope printing options, yet also features for multiple images on one page.

The Lexmark printer’s operating software also opens up several options for downloading pictures and t provides cutting, cropping and photo enhancement features.

For the modern home user, this printer has more than enough features and an excellent print and reproduction quality. The price is very reasonable for the features that it has. The paper feed and print tray are designed to be easy to change and don’t take up too much room. In all, it’s a good home printer.

If you are looking for the best professional quality laser fax then you can go for the Canon L1000. It is a heavy duty fax machine that can be used for both home and office uses. It is able to produce 192 pages from memory and you can upgrade it to 704 pages if you need more than that. This large memory capacity makes it an integral component in any office. Since the device gives high resolution laser results you can expect the best performance from it including faster speed, better image quality, and ability to produce both color and monochrome prints. A resolution of 600×600 dpi can be expected with this machine. The Canon L1000 is able to distinguish between 64 different shades of gray. You can insert as much as 1100 pages, so you can easily leave the machine on even if you are not going to be in your office for some time. The fax will be ready for your appraisal when you arrive.

The Canon L1000 has a Super 3G modem and allows for high-volume faxing; it also allows you to receive a single page within the shortest time span of 3 seconds. And if you want to send the fax to several different offices then you can automatically send it to 199 places with the single touch of a button. Right after the first page is scanned, you can start transmitting it to pre-destined locations. With a single FX6 toner cartridge, you can produce more than 8500 A4 size printed papers. Since the laser can take in paper automatically, you can feed the machine with a couple of 500 sheet pack so it can produce the prints as and when the faxes are sent. Since the machine can produce up to 30 pages per minute, you will not have any trouble, even on a very busy day. The Canon L1000 will be ideal for media, especially the print.

The Samsung ML-2550 is a laser printer which is designed to be used for small to medium size businesses. If you plan to print documents and photos laser printers are critical for long lasting quality documents and photos.

Laser printers are very quick and have the ability to hold a great deal of print paper all at one time. In addition, laser printers possess superior print quality.

The Samsung ML-2550 is a bit higher in price however, it can easily hold up to 500 sheets of print paper. Therefore, you will seldom have to reload the paper tray of this superior product.

The Samsung ML-2550 printer comes equipped with a straight paper path which will almost always avoid those annoying paper jams and tears. The printer has an approximate weight of about 30 pounds.

Toner cartridges can become an issue when dealing with new printers. The toner cartridge of the ML-2550 model will not need to be replaced often. In addition, the printer comes equipped with a built in safe mode. The built in safe mode allows 40% more usage from the same cartridge before it has to be replaced.

Possibly one of the most attractive features of the Samsung ML-2550 is print speed. This incredible machine has the capacity to print between 20-25 pages per minute. In addition, the printer has an above average graphic quality.

In conclusion, the Samsung ML-2550 has many attractive features which make it perfect for a busy office environment. Also, the printer is attractively priced.

Did you know that when you buy a new printer from Xerox that many times they will make the transition easy by giving you credit for your old Xerox printer? They will give you a trade-in rebate to help you be able to afford the machine. If you have a Xerox Phaser 780 that is wearing down and causing you to look for a replacement, you should check out the Xerox Phaser 7760. Though it’s a replacement for the popular 780 model, it comes with a wide spectrum of features the previous model didn’t offer.

First and foremost, buyers will surely notice a difference in speeds. With the 780, color documents and black-and-white documents print out with speeds of 16 pages per minute and 4 pages per minute, respectively. The 7760, on the other hand, almost triples those speeds! When printing in black-and-white, up to 45 pages can be produced every minute. Color document speeds are even keeping up at 35 pages per minute. With speeds like this, the newer model blows the older one completely out of the water. The first page out only takes about 6 seconds with the 7760. Maximum resolutions for the 780 could reach 1200 dpi, while the newer 7760 can reach 1200×1200 dpi resolutions.

There are some other changes you wouldn’t notice just by looking at the machine too. The older model works with a 130 MHz processor. What does the 7760 work with? The processor on this machine is as fast as 800 MHz—that’s a huge difference. With the 780, buyers are given 64 MB of memory up front that can be expanded to as high as 192 MB. Surprisingly, the amount of memory in the 7760 is 512 MB of memory upfront, which can be expanded to 1 GB.

If you are wondering whether or not it’s time to trade out, take a look at what you’re missing out on.

Scanners are a great tool to have in the home office, small office, midlevel office or even large office. The possibilities of a scanner are endless, and there are so many types of scanner out there that you can find exactly what you need in at least one. To find out about the contact image sensor inside of a scanner that makes scanning images possible, check out Wikipedia.

There are so many ways you can use a scanner in your home or business life.

Think of all the possibilities you have when scanning from home! One of the uses people always think of is adding pictures of any kind to their computer. Whether it’s a photo you’ve had developed or photos you had taken by a professional on vacation, having a scanner at home makes it possible to keep those memories in your computer forever. From there, you can add your photos to any social networking site online. Without a scanner, you just won’t have the same abilities.

If you’re a school teacher, you can use the scanner to keep a trail of your student’s class work. This way if down the road a student says they turned something in or got a different grade on something than you have in your grade book, you can actually pull the assignment up, look at it, and print it out for the student. You could also scan in great projects that students create to keep on file to have later down the road when you may need it. Teachers will probably prefer a scanner with an automatic document feeder, though, so that each page doesn’t need to be manually fed.

If you have any business, it’s important to have a scanner too so that you can easily have a backup of any files you may need.

Portable printers are a wonderful asset to have. They make it possible for users to print whatever, whenever and wherever they want. With a portable printer, buyers are able to do more than ever before. To take a look at one of the smallest portable models out there made by Brother, go to Youtube.

There are many different types of portable printers out there. Models like the PocketJets by Brother are essentially for those only printing a page or so at a time. For the business man who most likely won’t need to print but wants a unit to take on the road with him just in case, PockJet models are perfect.

There are also machines especially for those who will print a lot, but need the mobility that a portable machine can offer. HP makes the DeskJet 450 that is perfect those situations. Weighing only 4.6 pounds, nearly anyone will be able to lift it and move it around very easily. It also doesn’t take up too much space in suitcases or carryon luggage with its 13.3×6.5×3.3 inch size.

For those looking for a portable photo printer, Canon offers quite a few of these, like the Canon Pixma iP100. While you may think having a photo printer on the go doesn’t seem like a necessity, most will see that it is a great addition. Think about all the occasions with family or friends in which this would come in handy. If you have ever been to a family reunion, you know exactly how handy this could come in.

When using one of these models, you won’t really have to sacrifice quality of documents produced; however, you will have to sacrifice speeds. These machines tend to operate at speeds of only one to ten pages per minute. However, sometimes convenience is more important than speed anyway.

Choosing a printer is hard work—especially when there are so many options out there to choose from. If you are looking for a Lexmark printer specifically, try going to the Lexmark printer finder. This tool will let you select all the things you are looking for in a printer and then it does the work for you by picking out which printers fit your needs exactly.

First, you will need to pick the environment in which you are working in. Your three options are home office, small business and departmental. Small offices generally range from 5 to 30 users, while a departmental situation would be for 30 users or more.

Next, you need to choose whether you want a black-and-white machine or a color unit. Base this by determining what exactly you think you will be printing. If printing black-and-white text, you probably just need a monochrome machine. If you foresee yourself printing a lot of color documents, then you probably want to go with the color machine.

The tool will next ask you what type of connection you are looking for—wireless, wired or USB. The wireless options are by far the most convenient, but ethernet may operate the most effectively. USB connection is pretty standard and will work best with a number of different products.

You will also need to choose between the features you’d like additionally. The ones listed include scan/copy, fax, automatic document feeder, duplex printing and touch-screen options. Here you can easily check mark the features you need or would like to have.

The last option you get to choose is price. Here you choose what you are willing to spend—under $299, $300-599 and $600 and over.

After that, all the models that fit with your specifications are chosen. For instance, if you choose a home office machine that prints in color, offers all three connection types, has an automatic document feeder, duplex printing and a touch-screen, while still costing under $300, you will be shown the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901. With this tool, choosing your printer is easy!

The Brother Intellifax 2800 is a fax machine, printer and copier multi-functioning unit. It comes standard with 2 MB of memory, but if you ever need to clear its memory, check out Ehow. Weighing only 16.5 pounds, you will love how easy it is to maneuver, and little space will be taken up too, thanks to the 15.6c14.1×9.6 inch size. With fax speeds of 14.4 Kbps and printing and copying speeds of 10 pages per minute, it certainly won’t prove to be the fastest machine out there. However, home users who don’t print or send faxes too regularly will find that it works just fine.

For the most part, user reviews rate the machine highly. Buyers find that it executes sending and receiving faxes quite well. While users find I to be a very reliable machine, there are complaints when it comes to the cost of ownership—most wish the unit was just a little more affordable to own. The reason why it’s hard to operate is that the cost per page is rather high, and most find that the ink consumption of the 2800 is quite high too. Other than that, though, buyers really like what the 2800 has to offer. One of the best things about the machine is the fact that it doesn’t get too many paper jams, like many competitor products do. How annoying is it when you get a paper jam while waiting on a fax to come in? With this product, you won’t have to worry too much about that.

While the ink consumption is high, users should keep in mind that remanufactured cartridges are available from third party vendors. Remanufactured ink lasts just as long as OEM ink, but it costs a lot less. That means that you can own the machine without spending everything in your bank account.

Anyone with a modern printer knows full well that major brands like Hewlett Packard are infamous for programming their new smart ink and toner cartridges to tell the printer they are empty long before they approach a level that would affect print quality. This is supposedly done in order to prevent reduced print quality and to preserve the printer head from getting damaged from overheating or other causes, but realistically it has more to do with gently encouraging consumers to go buy more ink before they need to. However there are a couple of tricks that can be done to get the most out of your HP 2550 toner cartridge without running to the store to buy a replacement.

The first trick available to the savvy consumer is simply replacing the smart chip on the cartridge. This little chip on the bottom of the toner cartridge tells the printer when you are running low on toner (usually well in advance, as we discussed earlier). Unfortunately in some cases if one cartridge runs out of toner the printer simply stops working even if your other cartridges have more toner left over, forcing you to address the situation sooner rather than later. It is fairly easy to locate replacement HP 2550 toner smart chips on the internet, and they are often sold in sets for roughly $20 or a little more. The smart chips are only secured to the cartridge by double-sided tape, so simply snap out the old chip and use some more double-sided tape to replace it with the new reset chip and put it back in the printer.

If you don’t feel like spending the $20 or $25 to buy a set of HP 2550 toner reset chips then this next trick is for you. First, shut down the printer. Once the power is totally off press and hold down the big green button while you turn the printer back on. Don’t let go of the green button yet–let the printer initialize, during which the front lights will all turn on one at a time and then all but the ready light will turn off again one by one. Once only the first green light, the ready light, is the only light still on let go of the big green button and wait for the front lights to start flashing a few times. While those lights flash press and release the red circle button once, and then you’re done.

It may be necessary to reinstall the printer drivers after this process, but that is a comparatively simple procedure that may even happen automatically if your computer detects new hardware. If you don’t get the process right the first time simply keep trying until it works. Good luck!

Have you ever wondered where you would be without having toner cartridge articles to help guide you in making your next bulk office supply purchase? No, probably not (and who could blame you?), but it is an interesting idea to explore none the less–what many people see as a particularly boring topic to blog about actually fills a vital role in keeping cartridge prices from skyrocketing while promoting alternative ways to save you money at the end of the day. It might be surprising at first, but these articles are actually highly influential and a rather important piece in an ever changing global market.

The very first thing that you would miss out on due to a hypothetical lack of toner cartridge articles would be fairly unbiased product reviews in an extremely biased industry. Printer companies have been trying as desperately as they can to limit their competition and inflate their prices by designing non-compatible cartridges and printers that they can sell at whatever price they see fit. Or, looking beyond the current hot button issue, the reviews from toner articles act as a tried and true quality control on the products released into the market. If a product is destined to flop due to poor quality or over-inflated price, these blogs would warn people to save their money and purchase a different product, thus helping to ensure that only high quality printers and cartridges are commonly sold.

Without toner cartridge articles you would also have a much more difficult time figuring out ways to save yourself a great deal of money. The authors of these blogs tend to know the industry very well, and those connections and insights generate leads into the printing community that can lead to the best discount in town, or the highest quality product available. It was also the authors of blogs like these that helped leak out the most safe and effective ways to fool your printer into using up all of its ink before necessitating a refill, despite the best efforts of the major corporations.

All in all, without the guidance and advice of many toner blogs and articles the average consumer would be left with nobody telling them about a product beyond the people selling it, very few options to choose from, and very little chance of securing a tangible discount on any of their purchases. Aren’t you glad you have them?

If you have had enough of struggling to replace those clunky old toner cartridges in your laser printer or to refill the ink in your inkjet then perhaps now is the ideal time to start exploring the idea of purchasing a solid ink printer instead. Rather than dealing with the hassle of heavy or messy ink cartridges used in other printers solid ink printers use small ink sticks that are far easier to use. These innovative ink sticks negate the danger of spilling liquid ink or toner all over your clothes or, worse yet, back into the printer while trying to change a nearly empty cartridge.

There are a number of major advantages in switching to solid ink printers instead of other more traditional models. They are fantastic options for anyone interested in graphic arts or photography, since the wax ink used is vibrantly colored and gives even low quality paper a professional glossy finish. The environmental impact of ink sticks is much less than for toner or ink cartridges–the entire stick is ink, leaving behind no plastic reservoirs or pounds of waste material to be dumped into a landfill. Unlike laser printers solid ink sticks do not produce ozone during printing, which is healthier for office workers operating the machines and far better for the overall environment as a whole. In fact, between the lack of waste and the few chemicals released in printing this may be one of (if not the) most environmentally friendly printing options widely available at this time.

However, to be fair using solid ink printers is not all a walk in the park. Since printing with solid ink requires a process of heating up the ink stick to melt the wax binding, these printers tend to waste more electricity and ink than normal printers do. Every time that the printer loses enough power to cool down the melted ink held in reserve for the next print job the printer purges these reservoirs and dumps them into a waste ink tray, leaving you with much less ink than you might expect over the lifetime of the stick. Even worse, if you move the printer while those ink reservoirs are still melted they could easily spill and gum up the works on accident.

In the end there are arguments for and against solid ink printers, but they are definitely worth further consideration.

Lately, toner cartridge recycling has become a hot topic on the internet and in the printing supply industry as a whole, not only for the environmental impact that it has but also for the chance that the resulting re-manufactured competition may result in driving down the exorbitant prices of new brand name companies. There was a time when recycled cartridges were potentially dangerous for your printer as a result of shoddy “drill ‘n fill” recycling methods, but modern recycling methods have gone a long way toward negating this problem. As a result of the new safer and higher quality re-manufactured products the issue of toner cartridge recycling is becoming much more influential in the industry than ever before.

One of the most persistent rumors about toner cartridge recycling is the mistaken belief that using a recycled cartridge will damage your home printer. This idea is commonly pushed by the manufacturers of brand name products to disparage their competition, but it was actually true at one point in the early days of cartridge recycling. The drill ‘n fill method mentioned above did result in poorer printing quality and the risk of damaging internal components of the printer, but the new process of dismantling and cleaning each individual part of the cartridge has gone a long way toward eradicating this issue. However many major printing companies will still void their warranties if your printer is damaged after using third party recycled cartridges in the printer, if local laws allow it.

Modern recycled toner cartridges now also produce comparably high quality products as new toner cartridges, further breaking down the traditional advantages of purchasing brand name products. Thanks to lower manufacturing costs in the recycling process it is now possible to pay only $30 for a toner cartridge of equal use value to the $60 brand name competitor.

In the end recycled and re-manufactured toner cartridges are now capable of producing equally high quality print jobs as their more expensive brand name competitors, and are equally safe to use in your printer as well. Yet the negative stigma on recycled cartridges still remains, probably aided in no small part by the major printing companies themselves.

It is always a good idea to do a fair amount of research on a product before you go to the store to buy it or order one on the internet, and that is no more true than it is with printing supplies. One of the most common complaints you will hear about printers and ink is about the high prices of purchasing new ink and toner cartridges to replace empty ones, as well as the various tricks that printer companies use to make consumers buy more of their products before it is necessary. This is where toner cartridge articles become particularly useful to the curious or confused consumer who wants to learn more about the industry in order to navigate their way to lower prices for good quality products.

Any quick internet search about ink or toner will turn up literally hundreds of competing articles from a few dozen websites espousing the gospel of this or that product, one brand name or another, but almost none of these are written with the intention of providing the readers with a critical analysis of the products they are discussing. The dominance of these fluff articles serves to demonstrate exactly how vital of a role toner cartridge articles play in creating educated consumers armed with the knowledge of how to beat a system aimed at gouging prices left and right.

If it was not for the guidance of independent bloggers or consumer advocates few people would be willing to risk purchasing a re-manufactured or compatible toner cartridge over the much more safe (and expensive) choice offered by brand name products that can be found at any local office supply depot. Thanks to the consumer advocacy of many toner cartridge articles consumers are starting to put their faith in these generic cartridges and are discovering a whole new market of cheaper alternatives to the household name brands. The bloggers are journalist have now moved beyond simply reporting on their chosen industry and into influencing what happens in it by encouraging consumers to make informed decisions about their next purchases.

The easiest place to find Canon MF4150 toner is to look online and start comparing the prices of multiple online stores to get a good idea about what kind of price range you are looking at. Shopping for printing supplies online is generally a good idea for customers because it gives them access to a large number of deals that they might not encounter by going to the local office supply depot or printing shop; yet online shopping can often be confusing and very misleading as you try to navigate through layer after layer of marketing campaigns (both open and those disguised as reviews on other websites). However, if you are patient and put in the needed time to sift through each page of online stores and marketing information you are bound to find a reasonable deal on Canon MF4150 toner before too long.

The biggest thing you need to be concerned about when you shop online is being able to trust the source of information that you are relying on to make an educated decision. While the Canon website might go into great detail about the benefits of using this the Canon MF4150, all of this information will be slanted from a viewpoint of trying to sell you a product. Even if you go to an outside website (or dozen) it is extremely easy to be fooled by anonymous bloggers or product reviewers who you later discover were taking checks from Canon the whole time.

However, despite those issues shopping for your Canon MF4150 toner online is still the best option. Even if you only find articles written from a biased viewpoint to sell you a product, generally speaking it is pretty hard to be continually fooled by someone trying to make a sale. Just keep your wits about you and do your best to find independent reviews of the companies offering the best deals and you will do well. Or, to save the most money do some research on compatible or re-manufactured Canon cartridges—just be sure to only shop with a compatible company that offers a quality guarantee.
