Think of all the possibilities you have when scanning from home! One of the uses people always think of is adding pictures of any kind to their computer. Whether it’s a photo you’ve had developed or photos you had taken by a professional on vacation, having a scanner at home makes it possible to keep those memories in your computer forever. From there, you can add your photos to any social networking site online. Without a scanner, you just won’t have the same abilities.
If you’re a school teacher, you can use the scanner to keep a trail of your student’s class work. This way if down the road a student says they turned something in or got a different grade on something than you have in your grade book, you can actually pull the assignment up, look at it, and print it out for the student. You could also scan in great projects that students create to keep on file to have later down the road when you may need it. Teachers will probably prefer a scanner with an automatic document feeder, though, so that each page doesn’t need to be manually fed.
